The material used for this collection — called Rilsan® Clear G850 Rnew® — is 45% bio-based. It has a favorable climate change impact compared to conventional polymers derived from fossil fuels.

Yes, they are! Rilsan® is a lightweight, durable, and flexible material with a great range of colors and transparency options.

Rilsan® Clear G850 Rnew® is a 45% plant-based material produced from castor beans, the seeds of a type of spurge flowering plant called the castor oil plant.

Bioplastic frames are eyeglass frames made fully or partially from natural and renewable sources. In the case of Rilsan® Clear G850 Rnew®, 45% of its composition is made from a polyamide called PA11 which is produced from castor oil.

Castor oil is a multi-purpose vegetable oil extracted from castor beans. This oil is later polymerized to obtain the polyamide needed to produce the material.

All the packaging materials for this collection are recycled, including a recycled neoprene pouch to keep the glasses safe plus a printed Barner Box, made from recycled paper.
